Outdoor Writers of America Convention

The writers convention was a big thing.  It was their annual national convention which ran from last Friday through tomorrow (Wed). Some 500 attendees for the convention.  Probably a 100 to 200 at Green Hill. Yesterday was "breakout" day for them at Green Hill Park  from 8 to l pm.   It was quite a setup. Three Abbott buses shuttled from the Hotel Rke to Green Hill. There was a least a dozen or more vendors with displays and handouts.  Our part was to provide the opportunity for fly casting to a target to qualify for a ticket to be drawn for a prize later in the day.  We did that across the road from the other displays where we had casting room. Anka, Hans, Jack Ward, David Vecellio, George Kessler, myself and Dover was our group.  We had a great time.  George and I  got promises from  several vendors to donate prizes for our raffle.  George will be following up with emails and letters.  We talked with people from Calif to Maine and Florida to Michigan.  They met in Montana last year and will meet in North Dakota next year.  It was a good representation for our TU chapter.  Bayes
