Gander Mountain Grand Opening May 1st through 4th, 2008.
Thursday, May 1, 2008 - Had Dover
England, Bill Bainter, Robert Marek, Ron Neumura, Ron Herring and Dick Taylor
there early this morn. We blew up a gazillion ballons and then set them up all
over the store. Put together some small announcements advertising the
opening giveaways etc., put together several banners and set them up outside
facing the Inbterstate and in front of the store, filled six large ballons
with helium and tied 100 foot green & white flag pennants to them and Joe
put them up on the roof, did a few other things and set up the tables and put
the boxes of giveaways under the Gander Mt. tablecloths covering the tables.
Should be ready for the folks working the next three days. Joe and Janelle
were super nice to work with too. Dick Taylor
Friday, May 2, 2008 - Hans and Anka Loberg, Dick Cole, Dick Vipperman, Mike and Mindy Lewis, Bayes Wilson, Jack Ward, Pat Klingensmith & David Vecellio were on duty and volunteering today. Nice opening ceremony at 7:30 to 8:00 am. About 100 plus people waiting for the door to open at 8am. The morning was real busy for the first couple of hours. Stopped by for a few minutes after turkey hunting this morn. The above named folks were on duty. Back to the woods tomorrow morn. Dick Taylor Saturday and Sunday, May 3 and 4, 2008 - Another good turn out of TU members to work open house. Thank you to all that have helped to make this a successful event.
