Carvins Creek Stocking, June 19, 2007 Below are photos of the stocking at Hollins that
we did this evening. Had five folks on hand to stock. Some others showed up;
but, fish didn't arrive till almost 6:00 pm so they had to leave for other
engagements. Stocked in seven places from just below the Interstate bridge area
down to the bridge at the entrance to the University. Areas are marked with lime
green tape tied to the trees so the Hollins maintenance crew can locate the
spots where the fish need to be fed. Left two bags of fish food in a small cart
in the barn area just above the parking lot. Put in plenty of rainbows and
browns. Water temperature at several samplings was about 71° on average with
one shaded deeper hole clocking in at 68°. Not much movement to water and the
creek is down. Dick Taylor Pictures by Dick Taylor |
