Green Hill Park Stocking February 8, 2007.

That wind was mighty brisk at 9:00 this morn; but, you soon got warmed up doing the bucket brigade to the river. Dover delivered some signs in Spanish and Hans said he would see that they got put up especially around the picnic pavilion/parking lot area. See you at the next meeting unless another warm day shows up and then I might try the river.  Had a good turn out at Green Hill Park. Started out with about 6-7 and ended up with about 9-10 folks. Had two young dudes following the truck and stood around watching the proceedings for a little bit. Tried to catch Hans as he tossed one of those 5 pounders in but was a little late and only got the splash. It was so big that it's nose was about touching it's tail when it was loaded into the bucket for transfer to the river.   Dick Taylor

At 9:00am in Green Hill Park the temperatures were in the low twenties and the wind was howling. The cold weather and six inches of snow on the ground, however, did not deter the brave bucket brigade consisting of Ron Herring, Wes Jargosky, Spurgeon Keith, Anke & Hans Loberg, Ron Nemura, Dan Phlegar and Dick Taylor who all looked like well prepared for a trip to the North Pole.  Andy showed up with the stocking truck a little after 9:00am and it did not take us long to warm up as buckets with trout were carried to and into the river.   We had a slight problem; walking in the snow with wet wading boots quickly resulted in a buildup of an inch thick layer of ice under the boots. Rather uncomfortable walking and very slippery getting back into the river!  Thanks to the great turn-out we managed to finish up in record time by 10:30am.
George Kesler provided some "Special Regulation Area",  signs translated into Spanish. Dover stopped by with a few copies and Anke and Hans put up about five signs in the Green Hill Park picnic area after the stocking. More will be put up later.

At Green Hill Park we had eight volunteers participating in the stocking operation: Ron Herring, Wes Jargosky, Spurgeon Keith, Anke & Hans Loberg, Ron Nemura, Dan Phlegar and Dick Taylor.
