Bush May End Drilling Ban in Alaskan Bay

Hello Chapter and Council presidents,

I have information for you to share with your Fundraising Committees:

The '07 Fundraising Program webpages will not be restricted to chapter and council leadership only.

Many chapters have fundraising committees without leadership roles attached to them.  I don't feel that it is necessary to force you to assign leadership roles just because of this program.

However, since the discounts offered are a very generous benefit to our chapters and councils, it is not one that any of us should be making public, or using for personal gain.  Therefore, the program will be available for viewing online by Trout Unlimited Members only.

What does this mean?  That if a person tries to open the webpages and they have not already logged-in on the homepage of tu.org, they will be asked to do so before gaining access.

It is quite an easy process - all you have to know is your membership ID (it's on the back of your membership card if you've forgotten it):

If this is your first time logging in, just follow the instructions below:

Login Name: "tu" followed by your MemberID#
example: tu000000001

Password: MemberID#
example: 000000001

If you've forgotten you Member ID#, please call our Customer Service Center at 1-800-834-2419

Please share this information with your fundraising committees so that they may prepare for this.
The program is almost finalized...so stay tuned for December 18th!
 Happy fundraising,

Liz Ogilvie

OCTOBER RAFFLE - WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 18

OK, it's over.  The raffle has concluded and was a big success, thanks to a dynamite raffle team led by George Kesler.  The 5 winners of the major prizes are:

Winston Rod - Paul White in Salem

Orvis Rod and Reel - Bob Coffin in Moneta

Meadow Lane Cottage Getaway - R. Mason Cauthorn in Covington

Dagger Kayak - Josh Haddock in  Roanoke

Remington Hunting Rifle - Tom Hubbard in Roanoke

All the major prize winners are Chapter 308 members.  Congratulations to each of the winners and thank you to all who participated in the fund raiser.  And, thanks again to George for a super program.  Even bigger and better next year!  OK?  OK!

The winners have been contacted and the prizes distributed

KAYAK RAFFLE WINNER!

Josh Haddock shows off the Dagger Blackwater 12.5 kayak he won in our annual raffle.  Josh will soon be moving to a loft apartment downtown, so he needs to come up with some way to store his new toy.  He said his father suggested using it as a coffee table between uses .  What do you think?

DIDYMO INFORMATION

Thanks to Dick Taylor for providing a link published by Mark Taylor describing Didymo elimination efforts in New Zealand.    Maybe there's hope for the future?  Link is no longer available to this story.

VIRGINIA REDNECK - Hans Loberg is gaining more and more confidence in his Wooly Bugger adaptation that he calls the Virginia Redneck.  The fly works for him and he is willing to share tying instructions with us.  Click Here for his write-up.  No, this is not a Bubba Bugger!

ROANOKE RIVER STOCKING - MONDAY, OCTOBER 16

The Special Regs (Green Hill Park and Colorado St to Apperson) stocking went well, with an ample contingent of Chapter members to assist DGIF personnel in tenderly introducing a number of rainbow, brown, and brook trout to their new homes.  Bayes Wilson says that there were a number of BIG brookies included.  Click here for write-up by Hans Loberg and pictures by Bayes Wilson.
